The experiments in the Math Museum are designed to be hands-on and encourage play. There are approximately 15 experiments that offer challenge at varying levels and using different skills. You will be given opportunities to play with patterns, explore design, and build understanding through repeated attempts.
A few of the experiments are described here:
Move five disks one at a time to a different peg. When you move a disk, it can never be placed on top of a smaller disk.
Make a capital T using these four polygons.
Watch your hand in a mirror as you trace around a simple shape.
Find the shortest path around Minnesota that visits each city on the map once.
Make beautiful patterns while playing with a set of Tiling Turtles (made by Jos Leys and Kevin Lee).
Explore the infinite reflections in the mirror box.
Build a bridge using only wooden planks. No glue, nails, or string are required!
Make a triangular pyramid using these two yellow blocks.
